I built a satellite communication simulator!
Hello everyone.
I made a satellite communication simulator (VSA) that simulates the satellite signal transmit/receive environment, and a companion wargame website, mrradio.kr .
I made it because I'm interested in the subject but didn't have enough money or space to buy and set up the necessary hardware (I'm a graduate student).
The simulator does simplify environmental factors and doesn't include all RF hardware, but I think it's enough to get started and learn the basics. You can download it from mrradio.kr/download (sign-up needed).
I recommend you to use VSA with mrradio.kr . I gamified the transmitting/receiving process and made CTF-style hacking challenges where you can try to receive and decode simulated satellite signals.
