Would you still prefer doing technical engineering work, or do you enjoy being a leader, whether in an L-code or Program Management role? I rarely see someone doing coding or drafting aka Technical as an IC5. Usually, at that level or years of experience you either choose to stay technical because you enjoy it, or you move into leadership. Maybe you just prefer being comfortable where you are rather than pursuing a leadership position.
