On Thursday, an Air India A320neo (VT-CIO) operating as AI 2802 from Bengaluru to Delhi, declared an emergency after the pilots received an engine fire warning from one of the engines while on approach, which was subsequently confirmed to be true. The plane landed and all souls disembarked.
This is the second incident involving an Air India aircraft within the same day.

An Air India first officer has passed away in Bali today, due to a Heart Attack. He was around 40 years old. He operated a flight from Delhi to Bali on Tuesday and was on a scheduled rest. He reported discomfort while in the hotel and was rushed immediately to the hospital. Despite medical intervention he couldn't be saved.
