Emerging plants?

I have a 1 gallon tank that is about 50 days in… the hornwort has taken over and it’s a jungle… I was wondering if y’all had a recommendation for a plant that roots in the soil but then emerges from the surface of the water? I have a peace lily submerged that’s doing OK, I’m thinking something like a lotus but that will fit in a small tank like this. Thank you!

The other plants I have are:
Duckweed
Ludwigia palustris (red)
Mystery plant (water starwort?)
Dwarf Sag +
Sag

1 week update

Hornwort is brown (yet growing-well in equal measure) and dropping needles: still planning on getting a turkey baster for subfloor cleanup. The film that was developing on my antler freaked me out so I removed my only hardscape… ludwigia red seems to be doing well but I want another rooting plant because the moss seems slow growing. Any recommendations for a low carpeting plant? This tank is for the mystery snails that came in on some plants from my local pet store.

Noob with a 1gal (frogbit and hornwort)

I am 100% noob when it comes to keeping fish / aquatic plants; However, I created this tank just for fun and wondering how you clear the hornwort needles that drop on the substrate?

As well, Is this too small for snails and shrimp? 🦐

Can you please share pics of jungle-like tanks with aquatic plants (the more unruly the more inspired I’ll be)!!! Thanks for the advice and #inspo 😎
