sneak peek of the upcoming evo sl 2, iirc it kinda has the look of the prime x.
Height: 169 cm
Weight: 52 kg (115 lbs)
Shoe: Li-Ning Feidian 6 Elite
Size: US 8
Use: First run, pyramid intervals
I picked this up after seeing strong reviews from both local runners and Western creators. I wanted to feel how a top Chinese market racer performs, so I went half size up from my usual US 7.5.
Fit
The fit feels secure overall. I have about a thumb’s width of space in front of my toes. Lockdown feels solid through the heel. The midfoot runs narrow. I feel pressure along the metatarsal area during runs. Lacing adjustments help, but the shape still leans snug in that zone.
Midsole
This is the standout. The ride feels lively, responsive, and cushioned. It gives a strong forward push once I hit rhythm. I used it for pyramid intervals at 3:30 to 3:55/km, and it handled pace changes well. The energy return feels high, and turnover feels smooth. Stability drops when I land midfoot or heel. The platform feels less controlled at slower or uneven contact.
Outsole
Grip feels strong. It holds well on road surfaces, including slightly damp sections. No slipping so far.
What I dislike
Midfoot feels narrow and can irritate the metatarsal area
Stability feels inconsistent, especially on midfoot or heel strike
Overall
This is a fast and aggressive race shoe. It rewards efficient form and higher speeds. The midsole delivers strong propulsion and energy return. Fit works best for narrower feet. Stability may be an issue if your form shifts late in races or during slower segments.
TLDR
Light, poppy, and fast. Strong grip. Best at speed. Narrow midfoot and unstable ride limit comfort for some runners.
