Amy doctor/ medical professional with spondyloarthritis?

I’m a doctor (26/F) and I recently got diagnosed with spondyloarthritis (radiographic) and hypermobility, undiagnosed POTS (im showing all the symptoms, I’m waiting for an appointment) . I am started on adalimumab.

My health is a roller coaster. My physical health is weak right now, I started physiotherapy only few days ago and my physiotherapist suggested against matching into emergency medicine. I’m so torn because that’s all that I wanted to do ever since joining med school. But my body is so weak currently i don’t know if I should give up or if I should strengthen my body, build my muscles and give a try. The arthritis have affected my hand too according to my rheumatologist and the hypermobility has added to how unsteady my hands have become at doing the smallest task.

A part of me wants to listen to my body and choose something non-clinical and something that won’t flare up my body, while another part of me wants to take a break and build my health and give it a go.

I don’t know how this haste decision might affect me in the future. This diagnosis was a relief for all my pain but it’s taken a lot away from the doctor I could be and I’m grieving it almost everyday.

Is there anyone who can give me any advice on how and what I have to think about or any suggestions on what I can do?

Need help with gadget.

I have got spondyloarthritis and my hands are very painful. My rheumat says it’s because my joints are loose and it’s arthritis to my hands.

Im finding it very difficult to carry and use my phone for longer than few minutes because my fingers cannot curl over the edges of my phone.

I read reviews that straps and pop sockets have helped people but I saw more negative reviews than good ones on how it has caused more pain to people with arthritis.

I really need help because I’m struggling with my hands and wrists currently. I keep dropping almost everything I hold and I can’t even doom-scroll or read on my kindle to take my mind away from my pain to only end up crying cause it’s causing me more pain.

On adalimumab. Horrible pain.

I (finallyyy!!!) recently got diagnosed with spondyloarthitis after years of pain. MRI shows bilateral chronic sacroiliitis with active inflammatory components, visible on xray too. Gave me disc bulges. Multiple atypical vertebral hemangiomas.

I started on inj adalimumab biweekly since like 2-3 months after failed nsaids. I was started on methotrexate but had to stop because I couldn’t tolerate it. I kept throwing up for a whole week and couldn’t eat anything so they made me stop it.

So far my overall morning stiffness has reduced a lot but the pain still remains. My hands, wrists, elbow and necks pains alotttt. My hands and neck annoys me the most currently.
Literally every move in my hand and wrists hurt and I almost stopped functioning like a normal human now. My mental health is at the worst rn.

I’m not sure if it’s the late diagnosis or the early stage of treatment, I know I’ve to give time but do I really have to give time??? I want this pain to disappear I’m so tired of being in pain.

Will this pain reduce on the said treatment or should I do something about it?

I would really appreciate if someone can tell me anything to help me on this. ♥️🥺

Need an advice.

I need help deciding. I can’t think anymore and I’m exhausted.

Im post intern preparing for neet pg. everything was going well when suddenly my health took for a turn and i got diagnosed with spondyloarthritis. Its radiographic. Pain is horrible to the point if i talk about it, I’ll get admitted to a psy ward ( not to offend but I hope you can understand the level of pain and suffering I’m going through since months) I’ve been in agony since years but recently is when I got diagnosed and started on inj. immunosuppressants. My whole internship I completed with this pain and each time I went to get it checked, they said it was sciatica and asked me to rest. Got misdiagnosed and prolonged way too much that it gave me disc bulges now. My pain is to a point I can’t hold a pen for longer than a min. I experimented diclo gel, that is also not working.

I need help in gaining advice. With the kind of agony I’m in, will I be able to survive PGY1 if I do get in this year? I’m thinking if I should take another drop year and get my health and strength back on track and then sit for neet pg again or if I should get it over with.

I really don’t know what do I do and I’m breaking my head over it. A part of me wants to finish with the exam while another part of me wants to take a break and gain my health back.
