i have my surgery in 2 weeks and the thing im most worried about is getting sick after it (nausea, throwing up). i have my pre op appointment in 2 days and i’m gonna ask about scopolamine patches and anti nausea meds, but i’m sooo terrified of having to be in that kind of extra discomfort while healing, and i have bad emetophobia and ocd which is making it so much worse. any experiences with this?
i have my surgery on september 3rd and i am having so much trouble quitting nicotine. i’ve smoked (mostly vaping) for 6 years, ive been trying to wind it down since june. cold turkey is out of the question (did it once and nearly lost my mind). i threw out my vape today and im limiting myself to 2 cigarettes a day (this may sound stupid but it will be way less nicotine intake and slower release of nicotine into my system), but oh my god i do not want to quit. i’m also worried about the anesthesiologist and/or surgeon cancelling or rescheduling my surgery because of this. i don’t know what to do. i’m super anxious about my surgery but also suffering from withdrawals etc. a mess. please help. i don’t even know what im looking for, maybe just advice or experiences with this type of stuff. thanks ;-;
