Upgrades I’ve Made On The CX9

Wanted to show a few additions I’ve made to my 2022 CX9.

First up, went for the Thule Wingbar Evo Roof Rack set up and added the Thule Force 3 L Cargo Box. I got this box as it opens on both sides which makes it way easier to load gear in/out. Bought on sale at REI. Thule gives measurements for how much space you need for the cargo box to fit to avoid the hitch and the CL looked to be a super tight fit. I think you can technically fit it but the Large seems to fit well. For storage, Im running a pulley system in my garage using lag bolts into the ceiling joists. Raises it high enough to get it out of the way of the car and you can move it up/down with the rope.

I added 3D mats for cargo mats over weather tech. I like the looks of the mats and that you can still use them while your seats in the third row are all down, one up one down, and both up. Mats need a good cleaning lol.

Added a Curt Trailer hitch and plan to use that for my bikes and if I ever need a cargo hitch carrier. Pretty easy install if you have a second person and torque wrench.

Went for Continental Secure Contact 20 inch tires. Got a good deal on these and a much better ride than the Falken OEM tires.

Lastly, I’m running a dash cam through the rear view mirror. Looks way cleaner then running it through the cars power outlet.

What are y’all using on your CX9? I’ll likely add some running boards at some point to make it easier getting in/out car for kids.
