Am I seeing a very early amplification?

Am I seeing a very early amplification?

UPDATE: second test in a row was negative, as was a test roughly 12 hours later. Will continue to test a few days.

Pluslife reports this as negative but could it be considered an early positive? This is my kid's sample, 24 hours after exposure. Debating whether or not to "waste" another test in a few hours.

Please help my dad (63yo) - CAC score of 974.

My dad got a shocking CAC score of 974. He hasn't done a nuclear stress test or a CCTA yet.

No real symptoms. His LDL is decent at 95 mg/dL but I know this needs to be much lower at that CAC score.

He's had hypertension (likely genetic) since his thirties and has been on medication for it since then. He had severe allergic asthma for decades which was finally brought under control in 2023 with a biologic.

Overall he has always been lean (recently in his 60s gained some more weight) and fairly active (not necessarily exercising a lot but walking a fair amount every day).

I've gotten him on a statin (he's never been on it before, so they started him on 20mg) and will ask for ezetimibe as well. I told him to get cholesterol screenings every three months and aim to get LDL as close to 20mg/dL as possible.

Does he need a CCTA for sure? Would this change the treatment? Is it possible for someone to have sky high CAC but very little soft plaque?
