Finally replayed God of War III in 2026, still incredible after 16 years

I really can't believe this game is 16 years old. I first beat God of War III back in 2010, and I just beat it again in 2026.

Man, the original God of War trilogy is just so much more fun to me. This version of Kratos is the REAL God of War. Nothing can stop him. Man, god, or anything else. Every punch feels brutal and satisfying. It perfectly captures what I’d call the “aesthetics of violence.”

I’ve also beaten God of War (2018), but honestly, the only part that really felt satisfying to me was the opening fight. After that, I basically had to force myself to finish the game...

God of War Ragnarök felt pretty much the same to me. I eventually gave up when Atreus met the dark-skinned woman and went on an adventure with her. I just found that whole section incredibly boring and couldn’t bring myself to keep playing...

Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but man, I really miss the old Kratos and the old God of War games.

Finished watching Fall (2022),are the two female leads even human?

I have to say, this movie was really well made. The tension builds up gradually, and there were multiple moments when I was literally trembling with fear, with cold sweat running down my feet.

But there are a few things I just can't understand.

They're out in the open with basically no shelter, with large areas of their skin exposed, and with nothing to eat. Yet somehow they don't pass out from the heat, freeze to death at night, or get blown off the tower by the strong winds. And after surviving an entire night, they still have enough strength the next day to hang on with one hand and pull themselves up using a rope.

Like... HOW?

And there's another thing: iPhones have pretty terrible battery life. Yet they pull out their phones multiple times to watch videos and record footage. And somehow, on the third day, the phone STILL HAS BATTERY.

Unbelievable. It's basically a nuclear-powered iPhone.

OK, I'm now fully prepared and excited to watch Fall 2! Let's see what kind of crazy shit the director has in store for us this time.

I just cleared Uncharted 2 again! I honestly can't believe this game is seventeen years old.

I'll never forget that Uncharted 2 reveal at E3—the scene where he's running for his life while getting gunned down by a helicopter.

Cleared Uncharted 2 again after sixteen years. The snow scenery in Tibet is absolutely beautiful! Adventure is always so exciting! By the way, where is the real-life prototype of Shambhala located?

Bought the Xiaomi 17T Pro yesterday. After two days of use, it's not as good as I expected.

I got the Chinese version of the Xiaomi 17T Pro (12GB+256GB). By stacking the Chinese electronics subsidy, a Mi Store discount, and opting out of the free gifts, I got it for 3,300 RMB. I'll be comparing it to my previous daily driver, the OnePlus 13.

The Cons:

1: It overheats constantly!!! When I'm outdoors using cellular data, even if I clear all background apps and just leave it on standby, it still gets hot. If I open the camera to snap a few photos in this state, it gets so hot I almost can't hold it. The only time it doesn't overheat is with light use inside an air-conditioned room.

2: FCM and Passkey issues. These have been problematic since the HyperOS 1 days. I tried every non-root fix I could find on the internet, but nothing worked. I eventually had to root the phone, install LSPosed, and flash the "Fix HyperOS Passkey" and "Fix HyperOS Google Push Reconnection" modules to solve it.

3: Super fast battery drain!! I used ADB to debloat a lot of junk like Analytics, hybrid, systemAdSolution, etc., and I disabled app preloading and RAM extension. Despite all this, the battery still drains like crazy. Honestly, I can't believe this is a phone with a 7000mAh battery.

4: No Android Auto support.

5: Limited language support. It only supports English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and two Tibetan languages.

As the saying goes, every cloud has a silver lining. It has its flaws, but there are also some good points.

The Pros:

1: Excellent screen. The full-brightness DC-like dimming and LTPS dimming are very easy on the eyes. Even after looking at the screen for a long time, my eyes rarely feel fatigued.

2: Cameras. I think this is the biggest selling point of the phone. The Leica tuning produces really beautiful, highly textured photos. However, the low-light performance is a bit lacking.

3: Design and build quality. It looks way better than the Xiaomi 17 Pro.

Final Thoughts: If I could do it all over again, I would choose an OPPO/OnePlus phone again without hesitation. ColorOS is just too good.

Xiaomi 17 or 17T Pro for photography

I've been going back and forth on this for a long time because both phones have features I really like.

The Xiaomi 17 has the Snapdragon chipset and seems to have better overall build quality. The 17T Pro, on the other hand, has a larger display and 3840Hz PWM dimming.

I don't play games. My only reason for buying a new phone is to get better photo quality.

I mostly shoot street photography, especially on dimly lit streets at night. I also take travel photos, snapshots with friends, and photos of cosplayers at anime conventions. One thing that's especially important to me is capture speed.

My current phone is a OnePlus 13R, and it's terrible at night. If my hand moves even slightly while taking a photo, the image immediately comes out blurry. It's really frustrating.

If we're talking only about the main camera for still photography, which one performs better: the Xiaomi 17 or the 17T Pro?

I'm not considering any other phones because I simply don't like them.

34M from mainland China wanting to fulfill a dream of working in Japan. Is it still possible?

Hi everyone,

I'm from mainland China, 34 years old. I have a correspondence bachelor's degree (without a degree certificate) and a JLPT N2 certificate. I have a blank passport and have never been abroad.

To be honest, I don't really have any special skills or expertise. If I had to name something, I know a bit about basic computer software—like editing in Excel and Word, or installing Windows operating systems. On the plus side, I have a high tolerance for solitude. I actually enjoy being alone and don't mind a quiet, solitary life.

I'm hoping to find a job that doesn't have very strict language requirements, such as cross-border e-commerce or logistics.

As is well known, Japan has very strict and expensive requirements for issuing entry visas to mainland Chinese citizens.

I've always had a dream of living in Japan. Do I still have a chance to make it a reality?

Can't find a working Spotify mod anymore

I remember there used to be a lot of great, working Spotify mods out there. But recently, almost every modded version I download online is completely unusable. Either I can't log in at all, or the premium/mod features simply don't work.

I haven't been able to find a "Morphe" version either.

Does anyone have any working recommendations or know a fix? I really need some help!
