Experiment: looking for a friend for my son (17) — parent to parent

Hi all — unusual post, but this community will understand.

My son (17) had his first psychotic episode this summer — multiple hospital stays, delusions, currently inpatient and starting recovery. He's a great kid: funny, warm, loves his things. But the illness plus a substance problem burned his entire social circle, and he's completely alone now. Rebuilding friendships on his own isn't realistic for a while.

So I'm trying something: if you have a teenager or young adult (roughly 17–20) walking a similar road — psychosis-spectrum, ideally sober or seriously working on it — maybe our kids could be good for each other. Nothing heavy, and online-only — Discord hangouts, gaming (Project Zomboid, Rust, CS:GO), techno, gym talk, cooking chat.

The sobriety part is firm on my end — my son is early in recovery, so I can only pair him with sober kids or kids genuinely committed to getting there.

DM me and we can talk parent-to-parent first, then introduce them online if it feels right.

Thanks — and strength to everyone here.
