I've been looking into getting a used or new Pyxis 12k and was disheartened to see that the warranty is only for one year. Yikes. Are people generally getting the extended warranty with these cameras? My experience with Nikon cameras has been that I've never had to deal with a warranty claim so I've always felt fine buying used models expecting them to last a long time.

But obviously the Pyxis 12k is very expensive and I don't have experience with this brand. What are peoples' feelings and experiences around the warranty situation and also the quality of Blackmagic cameras in general? Thanks.

Anyone know if it's possible to shoot a video on the Pyxis 6k, transfer it to a PC over ethernet (via smb), and while it's transferring, to begin a timelapse image sequence? Or can it not simultaneously shoot and transfer?

I'm trying to see if I can use this camera to do a long, unattended hybrid timelapse/video shoot. The PC will trigger a video to be captured over the remote control API, and once the video is done a timelapse image sequence will start, and vice versa. A script on the PC will manage it all.

I just don't want to have a gap in time between the end of the video sequence and the beginning of the timelapse while the file transfer happens.
