Looking for confirmation on my plan to softmod ps2 slim 7700x
Hey everyone,
I just saw a nice guide on how to softmod the PS2 Slim via FCMB and some other nice tools.

I landed on two things I want to do thus far.
1: Buy a FCMB Memory card (Link)
2: Get a PS2 to HDMI converter (Link)
When watching the video the guide mentioned a Network adapter for the storage upgrade.
I noticed that this does not work on a PS2 Slim since it does not have this adapter.
I also saw some people on youtube and on reddit saying it is possible to use the USB and just hook up and external Harddrive.
I do already have one so does this work just with OPL, when formatting it the right way?
I also saw people saying ther are some caveats but none of them were mentioned. I also saw that apparently for my model and some other the USB speeds are a bit higher than other models making this possible.
So my question quite frankly is, do I need something special to get a Harddrive working?
