Pt 2 dial design
I decided to add some details to the sub dial. Here's a link to the dial being cut.

I decided to add some details to the sub dial. Here's a link to the dial being cut.
Here is a brief walk through of my watch design and build process. I will break it up into a few different parts to keep it shorter and hopefully engaging. For the dial I will be designing it in Lightburn Pro 2.0.05 and cutting the dial with my 30w fiber laser.
2&3. For this dial I am planning on a mix of numbers and circles, I like to start with number 9, then use the circular array tool to copy and space the numbers out evenly. After doing that I will change the numbers and delete the odds.
From here I am going to add a minute track, I am going to use circles.
Now I am going to a ring on either side so I can play around with different looks.
Now that I am generally happy with the outside I want to add some details to the center to balance things out. I start rough then use the trim tool to refine.
Now to trim things a bit.
I’ll now use the circular array tool again to add some indices to the sub dial.
Now to add the logo and start to divide the different elements into layers so I can play with different types of engraving to get it just how I want it.
Now to take a quick look at the preview to see how we’re looking. The black areas show where the laser will be engraving.
39mm tandorio titanium case, custom 33mm dial, and some random aliexpress hands I had. I was experimenting with different setting in lightburn and think it came out pretty cool.
Namoki nmk932 case, Caroline Mods chapter ring, random aliexpress hands.
Not a seiko mod but my take on a nomos using a st1701 case.
Namoki nmk912 case, custom dial I made, and some hands I already had.
