Long story short, I was rear ended about a month ago at a light, and after going back and forth with the people who crashed me, turns out they are uninsured and I will be covered for upto $4000. Should that be enough to repair this?

-The rear bumper went out of its place, but its still complete.

-The trunk is dented, and I have been told by friends with a more sound understanding of cars that the whole thing needs replacement.

-Lights and everything else are working just fine.

Should the $4000 dollars be enough to cover the damages? If it is declared a total loss, do I get to keep the car or how does that work?
