Had my consult today and this is all I learned

For anyone who is wondering what they told me at a denturist consult, here is all the info I was told. A lot of this info is pretty obvious and repeated stuff but I’m just quoting everything in case anyone is interested. I’m in WA state:

I went in thinking immediates would be covered by state insurance but it isn’t so that info was a bummer. He said after extractions it will be 2-3 mo of healing, then after fully healed they need 2 mo to get the perm dentures done. So, with state insurance I would go 5 mo without teeth. 😭. I was quoted as the immediates being $2000 for the top and $2000 for the bottom so $4000 total (but I myself might do just the top and a partial of 4 teeth for the back which I believe still counts as the $2000 not a full $4000 if I got that right) And has to be paid out of pocket or they take cherry/credee, or Care Credit for this specific clinic.

Other mentions:

He said it’ll be 4 appointments total, adjustment making, that it’s hard to get used to to eat and talk, and won’t be like any social media pics you keep looking at LOL. Cuz yeah I showed him pics to ask “if the dentures are like these” sort of questions. I don’t want them looking too fake. He said there are some more options to choose from later for the perms but will cost more money and that the state dentures are the cheapest version. And also that bottoms are harder to deal with, be comfortable etc. but uppers are easier.

Short version:

Immediates not covered by state insurance and cost an extra $4000

If none, it could be around 5 mo with no teeth (at this clinic)
