Taming?

Hello again everyone! I just wanted to start off by saying thank you all for the support so far, out of all the subreddits I've been on this is by far the most welcoming and friendly!

Now, onto the question. I've had ivy for just over two weeks now and things are going great, when I got her I was told by her previous owners that she wasn't handleable and would bite or tail whip when approached. I have found none of that, she is extremely eager to come out and tolerates me picking her up (I only do this when I need to in order to get her out of a hide in my room to put her back in her Viv if I'm going out ). I've found that she doesn't actively seek out spending time near me but doesn't seem stressed or upset when I am there with her. I've seen loads of tegus that will happily cuddle with their owners or seek out attention and was wondering if these qualities are part of a unique personality differing between the gus or if it is a time and patience thing? I'd love to get to a point where she chooses to come and sit next to or even on me and I do spend most of my free time sat by her enclosure talking to her. Thank you for reading!

"Reptile safe" building supplies?

Hello all! I've had my tegu Ivy for around two weeks now and she's settling in beautifully. We're still working on building up her confidence and sociability when out of her Viv but she absolutely loves exploring. Now that she seems comfortable in her environment, I'd like to add some new enrichment things to her enclosure, she has 5 inches of substrate to dig in when she chooses and plenty of hides but I was considering building her a climbing post so she has a few different levels in her enclosure.

My main issue is finding reptile safe building supplies that don't break the bank, I've heard there are general building supplies that you can use and don't come with the extortionate price tag because they're not marketed towards reptiles. I want to make sure she is as safe as possible and I don't use anything that could jeaprpdise her health.

Any advice? What materials did you guys use?

Say hello to ivy!!!

I adopted this beautiful girl today, she's a 3 year old Argentinian red and I'm really looking forward to getting to know her and her personality!

She's very food motivated and hasn't been handled in a long time so we're taking it slow :)

What is it?

I've been at uni since September and come home every 3 weeks to check up on my corn, my parents have been looking after her whilst I'm away. I got back today and went straight to check on her and that's when I saw this? I don't know what it might be and I'm worried that something might be wrong with her, I've had her for four years now and got her when she was 2 and a half from someone rehoming her, she went to the vet when I very first got her and everything was good and I haven't brought her back to the vet at all because I haven't needed to.

I did consider that this might be an infertile egg, but it's strange that there's only one and the shape / colouring seems off.

Thank you all in advance :)

Hi all, I'm currently searching for an ackie breeder or an ackie available for rehoming, I've never had a monitor before but have a corn snake and had a beardie for ten years before he unfortunately passed away about two months ago. I have done a lot of research on ackies and have a five foot viv set up and waiting. I'm hoping to bring the ackie home in late June and am located in the south of the UK. Any breeder reccomendation are much appreciated, I have contacted my local rescues and none of them have any ackies but I'm open to rescuing if anyone knows anywhere?

Thank you!
