Looking for a running club in Phnom Penh

Hi everyone! I’m a 39-year-old Indonesian. Been living in Phnom Penh for 2 years and currently looking for a running club or running community to join.

I usually run 3–4 times a week, mostly easy (slow) pace, and I’d love to meet more runners here. I can speak Indonesian and English, but unfortunately I can’t speak Khmer yet... so an easy English-speaking group (or partly English-speaking) would be great.

I usually run in the morning. Like, today I ran in national olympic stadium. Sometimes I ran on the road from BKK to Koh Norea.

If anyone has recommendations or knows a friendly running club in Phnom Penh, please let me know. Thanks!

2 Years in Phnom Penh

It has been 2 years since our family moved from Indonesia to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Yes, I know the stereotype of Indonesian who works in cambodia, but we are different. I'm a full time stock investor back in Indonesia, my wife now work as a teacher in one of International School (in Preah Norodom Boulevard). Our ambassador kids also go to the same school.

Honestly, it has been a beautiful experience for us. Phnom Penh may not be a perfect city, but it is a city that feels warm, safe, and welcoming.

We appreciate how friendly the local people are. Many simple moments, smiles from neighbors, kindness from shopkeepers (I make a nice relationship with a coffee shop owner across my apartment), and the relaxed atmosphere — made us feel comfortable living here. The city is also cleaner than many people expect, and daily life feels surprisingly peaceful.

One thing we truly love is the food. From local Khmer dishes (fish amok) to international restaurants, Phnom Penh has so many delicious options. Every week feels like discovering something new to eat.

Of course, not everything is perfect. The traffic can be tiring sometimes and a lot of motorcylist not wearing helmet, especially during busy hours. But even with that, Phnom Penh has become a place we genuinely enjoy calling 2nd home.

Thank you, Phnom Penh, for the memories, the kindness, and the experience these past two years. We are going to move to a new apartment this July.
