Choosing Lights

I have some questions about optimal light setup.

At my previous job I shot jewelry and had an almost unlimited budget to spend on lights and other accessories.

Now I’m starting up my own product photo business and my budget is the opposite of unlimited.

I purchased a product photo box which handles reflection decently however the light is nowhere near strong enough.

I will mostly be photographing small items in the box, including jewelry again. I will also shoot things like food outside of said box.

What’s a good, budget friendly versatile light I can get away with in the beginning? I saw the Godox strobes recommended a lot but I don’t have 300$ for that just yet.

Bug bite identification

I need some help from locals or people who’ve been here a long time. I spent some time in nature last weekend and found this bite on my leg. It got redder throughout the day and it’s itchy, it also formed a white little circle that wasn’t there before.

Anyone have any clue what this could be? The on-base ER sucks and I really don’t wanna sit there for 8+ hours waiting if it’s nothing.

I have no fever, headache or any other symptoms.

Camping stove use

Hi,

This typhoon the warnings seem to put a big emphasis on the possibility of multi-day power outages.

For people who have experience with this, how does one safely use the small gas canister compatible camping stoves?

Should we use it inside and open a window, or take it to the balcony?

I’m not sure if the wind would affect the flame but I assume it would, I also don’t really want to leak gas into the house.

I’ve lived with a gas stove my whole life before coming here, but I’d assume that has a sturdier build and better safety features than the small Makeman camping stoves and canisters.
