6 yo new hearing loss + autoimmune
My 6 yo has been diagnosed with hearing loss. This truly seems to be new onset for us as they have had perfect hearing their whole lives until the past year, passing every hearing test. Now they are in hearing aids and genetic testing was inconclusive, but did find a mutation in the col11a2 location. But it was a mutation of unknown significance.
Also in this short time, my kid has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, vitiligo. We are trying to make sense of everything and have seen so many doctors who aren't really telling us much, I guess because they don't want to speculate. We are very worried about the progression of hearing loss. Looking for any input and suggestions, if there's anything further we can look into or any treatment. Does this hearing loss look more autoimmune related or genetic? We have heard both.
