Sparring
Sparring my MMA friend Rowan. He is a very talented striker and a natural of unorthodox techniques... have you ever thrown a showtime kick at your coach?

This is one of my best friends, his style is very traditional jeetkunedo... because he's so peaceful I often try to pull out the war in him by shouting confrontational nonsense at him. As you can see, his ego is non existent in the matter.
Playing more defensive, Scanning movements and preparing for clinch & takedowns.
Have you ever played with these?! These are too fun to execute. Both set ups coming from a takedown attempt against you, one beginning a sprawl, the other on the chinstrap grip.
Every Tuesday morning we drill the knife attacks, these clips were taken over a period of 25 mins sparring straight. Because we kept leaving the camera eye, I had to clip the video to the parts we were in the camera 🤣🤣
What is your favourite set up for a takedown? For me the single leg has so many variations/opportunities and is so much easier to get hold of. Here I pulled a shelf variation, partially succeeded the trip, then went back to the whip to finish the takedown.
Thursday I broke down some basics and explained the reason for any movement expressed. If there's any questions please feel free to ask! I come from a high level kickboxing background originally with 75+ fights in the bag. My gym included many Thaiboxing techniques which were outside of the rules of kickboxing and K1. In my later teens then ventured into boxing and Muay Thai specifically. From there I began teaching striking for MMA and street defence. I am currently delving deep into the world of Mixed Martial Arts in all its glory! I've never looked back, it's a blessing to be invited to spar great upcoming fighters and meet martial artists of all backgrounds.
The ultra rare UK sun appeared this weekend, so only us 3 showed up to class. The summer shows the difference between those who want it and those who don't😉. We decided to smash a pad session after lifting weights, followed by body sparring. Kudos to Ioan Thomas for helping lead the session, it's always a blessing to have such a high levelled martial artist train with you.
Sunday I was blessed to be invited down to 24Jiujitsu Caerphilly with my brother Ioan to move around with their MMA team. Due to upcoming bouts we kept it very light! Malakai Gough is defending his featherweight title on the 27th of June at SFC 9, I highly recommend checking out Malakai if you haven't already.
