Is this the kind of “mistake” fare people go on about?

Miami → Queenstown, New Zealand for $468 one-way.

On a proper airline too: Delta.

Available August 28, August 31, September 29 and September 30.

The itinerary is a bit brutal — MIA → LAX → SYD → ZQN — but just think of all the yummy free airline food.

For those who think prices ALWAYS go up the longer you wait ...

I beg to differ ....

UIO-LAX

Yesterday, this flight was selling for $922. Airlines sometimes still open up some lower priced fare buckets on some routes if seats remains unsold. However, these tickets will be likely gone soon and only expensive ones remain.

Caveat emptor: don't count on this.

While we're on the subject of something that saves money ...

Not a lot, but a bit (1-4%), but it typically works regardless of incognito, VPN, third party vs airline ....

Whenever you can, book in the departing country's currency.

(Assuming you have a credit card that doesn't rinse you on foreign transaction fees, and note that some websites do have preferential pricing for USD or EUR).
