I got to actually skate today!

If you read my last post, you might remember that I had pretty rough first skate yesterday. Well today I actually got to skate. My brother and I drove out to a park, which was pretty flat. It was still scary at first. I was hanging onto my brother's arm, and it felt like we were going so fast that I thought I was going to die lol. But once I learned how to stand and move properly, it was no longer as scary. Every time I got a little scared, I remembered Polly Morris' video where she says "Oh No! Go low." It helped me so much. I did my first lemon drops too!

I fell again too. It hurt a little this time since I fell on the pavement, and not into the dirt like I did yesterday. I did have wrist guards on, but I'm still waiting for my elbow/knee pads to come in the mail. I got a little skidded up on my left elbow and left knee. I think I tripped on a stick or something. So yeah, I think I'm gonna be bed ridden tomorrow lol. We went home a little bit after that because it was starting to thunder out.

Anyways, if I'm feeling better tomorrow, I'll definitely be going back out there and trying again! I'm feeling very excited yay!

How to get over the fear of going fast?

I got my first pair today. I wanted to try them out, but I live on a hill. Half of my yard is a blacktop/driveway sort of thing. When I tried to skate for the first time, I got really scared, rolled down the hill, and faceplanted into the shed. I wasn't hurt and just laughed it off, but it was still really scary. I just kinda sat on the ground for a while after that. Does anyone know what I can do to get over the fear?
