My partner thinks German ‘kleinspitz’ and my best friend thinks Pomchi. I think she’s a little mini maniac 🤣 Any guesses?

How to titrate up by splitting dose across the week

Hi friends,

I know there has been a lot of discussion on this but I’m evidently typing in the wrong keywords as I can’t find the posts.

I’d like to move up to 5mg (after 1.5 months successfully on 2.5mg) as the food noise is coming back. I bought a 5mg pen yesterday in readiness. However, I’m still getting quite a bit of nausea 48 hours after each weekly 2.5mg dose, so I was thinking I should split the 5mg across the week ie 2.5mg every 3.5days.

I know everyone is different, but do you think this is this a worthwhile approach? Or should I just go straight to 5mg and see how I feel?

3.2kgs down in 4 days

Hi friends,

I found the ‘getting started’ posts really helpful when working out whether or not to go for it, so here’s my short and snappy contribution! This is purely my own experience and may not ring true for everyone.

F, 40, 5’6”/165cm, SW 71.9kgs, prediabetic, MCAS, bipolar, ex athlete, mother of 1.

Gained 20 kgs across the past 18 months. Major issues with inflammation related to histamine and out-of-control blood sugar. Adult acne.
EXTREMELY debilitating food noise that I’ve had since I was a teenager but was always kept under control with sport. Very tenuous mental health.

First 24hours: Timed it with the last day of my period. Desire for food completely gone within 4 hours. Ate a little bit of this and that but no cravings whatsoever. Felt a tiny bit nauseous.

48hours: Didn’t wake up hungry and no nausea. Had to force myself to eat meals. Ate a piece of chocolate in the afternoon out of habit before picking up my daughter from school and put the rest back without thinking twice. In the past the whole block would be gone.

72hours: Skin clearer than in years. A bit thirsty and have to remind myself to eat regular meals. Didn’t feel any need to snack which is unheard of. Honestly didn’t think about food once which is astonishing for someone like me.

Day 4: 3.2 kgs lost (mostly inflammation/water, I know), already feels easier to haul my stair-refusing border collie up the stairs (I live on the 5th floor no lift).

I was so upset with myself when I asked my doctor for Mounjaro as I felt like a failure. I now feel empowered and like I may even have a future sport again one day.

I hope that helps someone!

Edit to add: I also have very bad obstructive sleep apnea.
Also, full disclosure that I didn’t think to mention until a Redditor pointed it out: my private doctor bumped my BMI on the books by 0.6 points to get me to 27 given my comorbidities and my likely fast train to a higher weight and even worse symptoms. I was a bit of a mess when I visited them which probably helped 🫠

Hi everyone! Picking up my first pen today. Nervous and feel a bit defeated but also excited and relieved I’m doing something for myself that might help.

I have moderate to severe MCAS. Does anyone here also suffer from this? Have you noticed any change (good or bad) in your symptoms?
