Ich bin durch Wohneigentum kein kompletter Heizungslaie mehr, aber trotzdem sehr sehr sehr weit von einem Profi entfernt.

Ich habe gerade festgestellt, dass es aus meinerBrötje EcoTherm Kompakt WBS 14 D (Installation 2008, seit 2018 (Einzug) jährliche Wartung durch Fachbetrieb) tropft.

Direkt fiel mir auf, dass der Druck, der bei der letzten Prüfung im März bei ca 1 bar lag, auf einmal bei stolzen 3,5 bar war. Ob er Anstieg plötzlich oder graduell passiert ist weiß ich leider nicht. Ich habe direkt die Heizung ausgeschaltet. Dann habe ich die Heizung geöffnet, gesehen das drinnen alles trocken ist, aber an der Tropfstelle ein Ventil sitzt mit roter Kappe, auf dem "3 bar" steht - ich nehme an, das ist ein Überdruckventil und in der Theorie ist alles so gelaufen wie man es sich wünscht.

Meine Sofortmaßnahme war, den Druck über das Entlüftungsventil eines Heizkörpers auf ca 2 bar zu senken, um aus dem roten Bereich zu kommen.

Mir ist klar, dass ich einen Profi brauchen werde, um das Problem zu analysieren und beheben. Allerdings ist heute Brückentag und mein Heizungsbetrieb nicht erreichbar. Ich sehe uns aber nicht als Notfall, da die Heizung schon einige Wochen im Schutzbetrieb ist und nur Brauchwasser aufgewärmt wird - wir wohnen in einem gut gedämmten Reihenmittelhaus.

Die für mich aktuell dringlichste Frage: kann ich weiter sicher Warmwasser erzeugen lassen, bis der Techniker kommt? Zumindest einmal am Tag unter Beobachtung des Drucks? Oder sollte ich die Anlage lieber komplett stilllegen bis dahin?

Zusatzinfos: Letztes Jahr wurde das Ausgleichsgefäß im Innengehäuse getauscht sowie das Umschaltventil. Mir ist zwischen Oktober und März ein Druckverlust von ca 0.3 bar aufgefallen, den ich bei der nächsten Wartung in ein paar Wochen ansprechen wollte, der mir aber auch aufgrund ähnlicher Erfahrungen von vorher nicht so dringlich vorkam. War vermutlich ein Fehler, so lange zu warten.

(Sidenote: heute nacht gab es bei uns einen Stromausfall - sollte damit ja nichts zu tun haben, aber vielleicht erwähnenswert)

tl;dr: My wife is British-German dual national born in Germany, i'm German. Am I right to believe that our German-born children are not British citizens?

My mother-in-law moved to Germany after the UK joined the EEC to work as a teacher for a few months, met my father-in-law, they married eventually and had two kids - one born before January 1st 1983, one after. Both were born in Germany.

I'm married to the younger of these and we have two children, born 2018 and 2020. Due to the rules changing in 1983, she was a UK citizen from birth because the rule change meant also a mother could pass down citizenship to kids born outside of the UK. Her older sibling could get British citizenship but would need to apply and pay the fee.

Now to my question: our children were born in Germany as well. To the best of my knowledge, they are (unfortunately) not British citizens, only German citizens. However, we get news reports where dual-national British kids get denied entry into the UK if they don't use a UK passport (https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/feb/13/dual-nationals-denied-entry-to-uk-british-passport-border-control).

Am I right in believing that my kids aren't UK citizens despite having a British mother? Or will we run into trouble at the ferry port when we go on our annual trip to the UK this summer? All government websites I find are pointing this way, but I'd like to confirm my understanding is correct (there was some confusion with my wife's status when she applied for her first UK passport).
