Luminous Immersion vs Overwhelming Power

I know these two speakers have likely been discussed here before, but I wanted to share my impressions from a different perspective.

I own both the JBL Charge 6 and the Ultimate Ears EVERBOOM, and to me, they aren't interchangeable.

The Charge 6 continues to impress me every time I listen to it. For such a compact speaker, the power and depth of its bass are remarkable. Even outdoors, I find its low-end presence more substantial than that of many similarly sized speakers. It’s energetic and punchy, and it always makes me want to play tracks by Tujamo and crank up the volume.

Its downsides? Compression at high volumes, the lack of a second tweeter for true stereo reproduction, and a DSP that becomes noticeable on certain tracks, potentially breaking the immersion slightly.

The EVERBOOM, on the other hand, gave me a moment I’ll never forget. One evening, while walking outside in near-total silence, I played "Monsters" by Ruelle. It felt as though the sound was floating around me. I wasn't just listening to the music; I was enveloped by it. It was an almost magical sensation.

However, when pushed for high output, it hits its limits sooner. Compression becomes more apparent, the highs can seem a bit less detailed, and I sometimes notice a few DSP artifacts.

Ultimately, I don't view them as competitors.

To me, the Charge 6 represents almost excessive power packed into a compact form factor.

The EVERBOOM, meanwhile, offers a level of sonic immersion I had never experienced before with a portable speaker.

Which sound signature would you choose?

Has anyone here tried the Comiso M8? It seems surprisingly good for the price.

Hi everyone,

I recently came across the Comiso M8 Bluetooth speaker, and honestly, I’m quite impressed by what I’ve seen so far.

Based on the reviews I’ve watched, it seems to offer deep bass, clear vocals, good sonic precision, and surprising clarity even at high volumes. One reviewer even said it reminded them of the Ultimate Ears Hyperboom, which really caught my attention.

At around $100—or even less during sales—it almost seems too good to be true.

Does anyone here own one? I’d love to know how it performs in real-world use. How does it compare to speakers like the JBL Xtreme 4, Klipsch Detroit, Soundcore Boom 2 Plus, or even the Ultimate Ears Hyperboom?

I’m particularly interested in sound quality, bass performance, maximum volume, and long-term reliability.

Thanks!

Am I the only one hearing the Xtreme 5's DSP constantly changing the sound?

I ended up returning my JBL Xtreme 5, even though I think it's a very ambitious speaker.

My biggest issue wasn't the build quality, battery life, or output. It was the DSP.

I could hear the DSP constantly adjusting the sound in real time depending on the volume and the content being played. Sometimes the bass sounded punchy and energetic, then a few moments later it felt restrained. I noticed similar changes in the treble as well.

I've heard this behavior on other JBL speakers, including the Charge 6, but it felt much more noticeable on the Xtreme 5. At this price point, I was expecting a more consistent sound signature.

Maybe some people won't notice it, but once I started hearing those DSP fluctuations, I couldn't unhear them. I prefer a speaker that keeps a more stable tonal balance instead of constantly changing its character.

Am I the only one who noticed this?

My Klipsch RB-81 II speakers are sounding monstrous...

I think my bass reflex ports are working too well

No worries, they're still working perfectly. 🔥

The UB+ dBMiNi is it a good sound?

Here's a Bluetooth speaker that's caught my eye for a while now.

I haven't heard much about this brand, but visually it looks promising.

If anyone has any experience with this speaker...
