Does anyone just wanna like… smoke a joint together sometime?

I (34 M) have an amazing network of friends in my life, but none of them smoke. I enjoy it once or twice a week but it’s getting a bit lonely and it’d be nice to have some people to share it with every now and then, and explore the city more along the way. I try to stay out of the way as much as possible and keep it low footprint so think more like Martha Stewart not Cheech & Chong.

Other hobbies are running, biking, rollerblading, reality tv, cooking, baking, cocktails, travel, hiking, current events, board games, reading, dinner parties. Great if you share a few interests but the primary goal is to get high, and maybe grab a bite or a drink. I love that Chicago is so social and how it’s possible for people of all different backgrounds to bond together, so I’m hoping to find some of that here.

I am in Lakeview but not tied to it. Anyone else in a similar mindset?

Wow, that was a really amazing weekend

The first “summer” weekend of the season like this is one of my favorite days of the year in Chicago. Truly magical seeing everyone out and about, and everyone we’ve interacted with has been especially exuberant. Finally we get to reap the benefits of enduring the winter.

The weather has been so up and down lately, but I did sit out on a patio today, so I think it's patio season now? Right...?

I'm once again bringing you a Google map of bars and restaurants in Chicago with patios:

  • There are two layers you can toggle on and off - legit patios like you would imagine, spacious and off the curb. And sidewalk patios that may just have a table or two out front.
  • Red pins with dogs are dog-friendly
  • Green pins with houses are rooftops

You may simply view the map or you may also download a file and upload it to your personal Google Drive so you can add/remove pins or layer it on top of other maps you have. To download:

  • Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the map's title.
  • Click "Export to KML/KMZ".
  • Choose whether to export the entire map or just a specific layer.
  • Select “Download as KML**”**.

I've been lazy and busy but mostly lazy and haven't bothered updating in a year or two, so there are likely some closures I need to remove as well as new openings to add - please comment if you spot something and I'll do my best to do a big refresh in a couple weeks.

I hope everyone has the best summer ahead and gets to take advantage of all the amazing places our city has to offer!
