Let’s talk about the Qu, the Fermi Paradox, the Dark Forest theory

If the Qu in All Tomorrows plays the role of cosmic super-predators, targeting starfaring civilizations once they reach a level of technological advancement sufficient to be detected by the Qu, could we apply this hypothesis to our own universe? Is this why we find it impossible to spot signs of other advanced civilizations? Perhaps they are all in hiding, or worse yet have been subjugated or wiped out by other, more powerful and malevolent hidden forces.

All Tomorrows, real physics, and the Fermi Paradox: How plausible is this future for humanity?

Hi everyone! I'm relatively new to reading and analyzing C.M. Kosemen’s All Tomorrows. As someone who is deeply passionate about science and physics, I find it fascinating how the book weaves together biological speculation, extreme genetic engineering, and the ultimate fate of civilizations on a galactic scale. I’m looking to connect with people who share this passion and want to discuss the wildest, most fascinating theories and scientific concepts behind this universe. Here are a few thoughts that have been on my mind: Genetic engineering & Kardashev Scale: To what extent does extreme biological modification replace or complement technological development in an advanced civilization? Physical limits: What real laws of physics or biological constraints would a species like the Qu or the Asteromorphs face when reshaping living matter and traveling across the cosmos? Space and Time: How would time dilation and vast astronomical distances impact the cultural and genetic cohesion of a species spread throughout the galaxy? I’d love to hear your theories, scientific or biological analyses, or just your wildest thoughts about the lore. Do you think a galaxy like this is actually possible? Could this be our ultimate fate as a civilization? Or are we going to go extinct before we even get close to that possibility?
