Maybe stating the obvious but our future is looking pretty bright with how many games we're getting into very young players.

rd 23 was probably our youngest squad of the year and I thought they showed a lot of promise, on profile we could have been considered a young/developing side this weekend - not a side contending for finals. Yes we will likely drop some of them when older boys like Bont, Budarick, Dale and English are available but we've still gotten lots of experience into a young core of players.

Bevo said in the post-match that we've been preparing for Tassy to come in by investing in youth heavily now and even though there aren't a lot of high draft picks among them it's looking like there's plenty to work with. In particular I'd shout out Hynes and O'Donnell who both look really settled, Arty could be in that group but I'm waiting for his signature before I count on him being there in the future.

Libba and Garcia both withdrawn (sore, not injured). McNeil and Freijah come in

Bit of an emotional rollercoaster for both Garcia and Freijah this week.

Supporter check in: How optimistic are you?

I just listened to Bevo's post match where he said we're playing some kids and trying to find a winning mix before finals. I'm happy to hear we're trying to change but very pessimistic that a team can change so much this late in the game. If I had to bet I'd say this season will look like your standard Bevo season and nothing will change, I mourn the early years when we were a system team with a recognisable game plan.

On the other hand we've had the hardest fixture in the league so far (based on current ladder position of opponents) which has undoubtedly contributed to our terrible percentage and poor statistical profile, so maybe we aren't as bad as just about every expert says we are. As long as we have Bont there is hope, I also wouldn't want any other coach in a finals series.
