I have a very obviously Mexican last name (we're talking like top 10 most common last names). I am positive it's impacting me getting any sort of interview and was part of the reason why I was basically ignored at my last job. I already know what I could tell a possible employer why my legal last name is different (my white dad was adopted by a Mexican family while my mom actually is Mexican), would an employer look down upon me for that? I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place with this and was just wanting to get some opinions on it. Thank you!
Graphic and UI design has absolutely sucked the life out of me. I just got let go from my job on Friday due to a project manager messing up a project and blaming it on me. I've been thinking about switching over to web content management (preferably websites, not social media). How hard of a switch would this be and is there a way I can use my previous experience doing design and reword it to help me get a job as a content manager? I've worked on some freelance projects where I've done it before but it wasn't anything long-term.
