Where to pivot career wise if being an analyst isn’t working out.

Basically the title. I’m an analyst working on Beacon. I got ambulatory certified in October of 2025 and my org was hurting for a Beacon FTE, so they had me start doing basic Beacon work immediately. It started with me being “expected to take the lead” on a scheduling optimization project with the visit assignment wizard and infusion template generator. Literally “here’s this galaxy guide, you’re leading this!” I ended up not leading it and our resident boost analyst took it over and carried it. Then I got Beacon certified in February of this year 2026. But pretty much every project has felt like that ITG/VAW one where I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing and can’t even speak to it and someone else ends up stepping in and holding my hand to get it across the finish line. It’s embarrassing and I feel stupid every single day.

It’s the same story with upgrades and working tickets where I have no idea what these packages are, what they do, the galaxy guides are confusing, and I’m not really sure how things interact with one another. I absolutely dread being asked questions, getting assigned tickets, or being in any situation where someone might ask me a question or for help with something. I have literally never felt so miserable and like a failure at a job in my life. I transitioned from nursing into this role and at my first org, which didn’t use Epic, things felt like they were coming together. I did use Epic as an inpatient nurse for one year at the beginning of my career. But from the analyst side of things, Epic feels like a beast with so many moving parts and I don’t really feel like I have any true mentorship or anything. I have spoken to a project manager and my supervisor about this before but I basically get told “reach out with any questions!” Except I don’t even know what I don’t know and what questions to ask.

Long story short, I don’t think this is the right fit for me, and am looking for advice on what would be suitable after being an analyst. The unhappiness I feel at work is starting to seep into my life and feeling stupid and stressed every single day isn’t sustainable for me in the long term.

TLDR; feel incompetent in my job, don’t have a ton of support, want to leverage Epic analyst experience into something different.
