I received a fine on the U-Bahn as my 24 hour ticket expired shortly before I was checked. I paid the fine, however I am wondering if anybody has been chased up to pay the outstanding fine if I had opted to ignore it? I feel as if I was singled out as a tourist as no one else on the train was asked to provide a ticket and was wondering if this was some kind of fear mongering technique to try and take payment on the spot. I live in the UK if anyone has any experience of simply ignoring the fine.
