In celebration of Koishi day here's my first ever Touhou art her
Yeah I really just recolored her 3 times, please don't judge the other 2 were jokes 🙏
These are from late 2024, when I got into Touhou (I know I know I'm basically a newcomer), which happened because my friend showed me Koishi art.
I kinda miss this era of my Touhou obsession of thinking the KKHTA design was canon and only knowing Koishi exists in the same universe that one red girl (Reimu) I saw a few times before does and that she has a sister called Satori who I didn't know what she looked like yet.
Now it's all got really complex thoughts and alt timelines I think of and lore, which is amazing don't get me wrong, but that simple really early discovery phase where I knew literally nothing except "silly girl and her big sister" was golden.
It's why nothing can challenge Koishi's and by extension Satori's status as my favorites, literally my day ones.
So
Koishi my beloved 💜
Flag of the Serbian Immortal Regiment
The Immortal Regiment is a movement / event originating in Russia. In it, people march and hold up pictures of their family members who fought in wars. (usually World War 2)
Serbia has its own version of it, and this is the flag associated with it. I own one and so I wanted to share.
Also, I know how Redditors are and will have to go into further detail.
The Russian government has co-opted the event and it is exploited to spread hostile pro-Kremlin and anti-Ukraine rhetoric, which I personally disagree with as I am vehemently pro Ukrainian. (Not pro western tho, don't get too comfortable, NAFO nerds)
But I still think it is generally a good and beautiful thing, we should honor those who fought and died for us, because without them we wouldn't be here today.
I proudly own this flag and support its message, as my great grandfather is actually a part of the Immortal Regiment, he was a partizan who fought the Ustaše.
It is disrespectful of the Kremlin to use the good name of the movement honoring people like him who fought against aggression and oppression to now further their narrative promoting doing the same thing as the Germans back then.
(Note: this picture was taken when I got the flag, don't pester me to iron it)
I've noticed that here in Serbia the army will go through essentially the entire history of the flag from the first uprising to now
Meaning
They're carrying flags associated with both the Kingdom of Serbia and Socialist Yugoslavia
I thought this was pretty neat as here fans of either of those 2 often don't really like the other, so I wanted to share
And I wonder
Do other countries do this type of thing too?
