CarPlay install

I broke down and ordered from AliExpress a 7” CarPlay screen. Easy install with only 2 wires to my auxiliary fuse box. The TPMS feature is nice you can set a low/high warning. Connects quickly to my iPhone then to my helmet headset. Poor instructions especially for the TPMS.

For the $100 it’s not bad. So many apps now want you to subscribe if you want any navigation but i am still old school and plot my twisty rides on a website then export the GPX file to my Garmin Zumo. Did i really need this unit? Probably not but what’s more gadgets!

Advice please on new install or using Clonezilla

I currently have a DELL laptop that has been running Linux Mint (21.3 Cinnamon) for close to 3 years now (which has been basically trouble free the whole time). When i installed Mint i did partition my hard drive so i could keep my Windows 11 system only so i could run Garmin Base Camp & Garmin My Maps.

Fast forward to now and my solid state hard drive is getting full. I found an Ediloca brand 1 TB SSD on Amazon (canada) for $200 that i am thinking of getting to replace the current drive.

My question is should i just "Ctrl X" the files i want to keep from Mint to my external backup drive and just reinstall Mint onto the new SSD and forget about Win11 (forcing myself to learn how to use WINE) or should i try Clonezilla and copy everything that way to the new drive?

Hope i provided enough info.

Thanking you!

Forgive the lengthy post but want to be sure i have covered any details.

Looking for advise on this issue. My sisters Asus laptop doesn’t have a LAN connection, so she has to rely on WIFI for her internet. Her Rogers internet is supposed to provide 1.5 GBPS but when we do a speed test on the laptop she is lucky to get 350MBPS.

I connected my iPhone to her wifi and i got 737MBPS. Then i tried my laptop on wireless and got around 700 MBPS also.

Then i connected my laptop using a LAN cable, turned off my wifi and ran the test again and was over 1000MBPS.

I tried the LAN adapter in my laptop and continued with over 900MBPS.

So the next test was using a USB LAN adapter on the Asus and still only around the 330MBPS mark.

My initial thought was the USB LAN adapter was the problem but it worked fine on my laptop. Any idea what setting can be changed on the Asus laptop running Windows 11 that can speed up her wireless adapter? Oh i did try updating the driver for it but it says it has the latest.

Note my laptop is running Linux Mint but i doubt that makes a difference.

Thank you!
