Anyone else awake for that storm this am?
This morning (3:09-3:13) we got absolutely slammed with what seemed to be the beginning of a tornado / definitely a micro burst. We had violent winds, lighting multiple time per seconds and ping pong ball sized hail and a deluge of rainfall in minutes ...
My rant...Where was our alert. In a purple patch. Game time decision about getting every one to the basement... Luckily it passed quickly and with not too much damage... But nothing from an alert standpoint. I got some for Canada Day winds, tornado warning as far as Chattam and yet, in the middle of what seemed to be a very dangerous situation or before or after, nothing? Weather Network, Environment Canada... Nothing? I feel like someone slept on this.
I'm sorry I didn't grab my phone when I ran downstairs after the half tree crashed down... I would have liked to have the video evidence of this event.
So cleaning up the trees branches (half a tree) that snapped, leaves everywhere, damage to the cars is faint and cosmetic so not gonna bother. Luckily nothing on the house. Anyone else see/felt this storm. IMO it was the worse one we've seen in our neighborhood in over 5 year.
