Is it a smart decision to reach out to local law firms as a highschool student?

I’m a rising high school senior interested in the law field, and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to reach out and email local law firms to ask if they are hiring, accepting interns, or allowing high school students to volunteer over the summer.

I know most legal internships are usually for college students or law students, or deadlines have already passed, so I’m not sure if this would come off as annoying. Would it be worth emailing/calling small local firms, or is it just a waste of time?

Any advice would be appreciated!

research programs before!!!

Make sure to research all your summer programs in like September. I wasn’t actually planning until February and ended up being rejected from everything bc I didn’t have time to write meaningful essays. I ended up getting an internship with a local senator though so ig it worked out.

am I fried with a 3.7 GPA

For reference, I go to one of the most competitive high schools in nyc and had a 4.0. However junior year kinda messed me up, and now I have roughly a 92(3.7). I’m trying to aim for t50s and want to makor in poli sci, government/policy, or psychology. I heard that undergrad really matters when going into law school. Am I cooked with a 3.7 GPA???? My SAT is also bad as well, it’s in the 1300s.
