Feeding advice

Hi everyone!

This is Elvira, she’s an adult Regius Sierra de Bahoruco. She’s my first spider, bought from someone who was quitting the hobby. Seller says she’s under a year old. She misses a hind leg and has a scarred abdomen, seller said from an accident when closing the enclosure door. She’s a gentle little girl who likes to take naps on me and chill on my chest while I work (no matter what she always ends up there lol). She doesn’t seem to jump but I feel like with a missing hind leg she may be impeded there. She walks and climbs just fine.

It’s been around 3-4 weeks now and I’m having some difficulty getting her to eat at all. She drinks well, poops, responds to movement and sound and she can definitely see prey, but she makes absolutely no effort to eat and would rather climb tweezers. I’ve tried feeding her in a food bowl and I’ve tried putting the prey near her as well to let them move freely. She strikes if they come too close but otherwise ignores them.

I thought maybe she didn’t like the bullworms that the seller gave with her, so I tried fruit flies, houseflies, small crickets and locusts, roaches… with all of them she gives the same response. She also hasn’t been working on her hammock much, so I don’t think she’s in the process of laying eggs or anything. But her abdomen don’t look small. She also doesn’t seem to be stressed; her behaviour seems to point to everything normally.

Now I’ve heard they can go a bit without eating, but I’m a chronic worry wart and I would like to do right by her 🥺. Should I worry? If not, when should I worry? What can I do to help? Thank you for reading!
