Today's haul of free gear
Local school was getting rid of a bunch of stuff, all bound for recycling. Most of it hasn't been used in ages. In some cases, decades. All of it is going to need a thorough cleaning before any testing happens.
Nagra 4.2
Otari MX5050 1/4" 2-track
Sony AV3600 1/2" EIAJ VTR
Sony CV2200 1/2" CV VTR
Panasonic 1/2" VTR (probably CV, don't know this one)
Huge stack of small Ikegami CRT monitors, which we will definitely use, lots of random film gear to put on display in the front lobby, and some random bits and pieces of rack gear we can definitely use.
I'm really excited about the Nagra and Otari. We have a Nagra IV-L and an older MX5050 already but the Nagra is a bit flaky and what I'm told is that the 4.2 doesn't have the issues ours sometimes does. Can't wait to dig in!
