First, if we imagine selected characters to be buffed from Liyue is gonna have same weight as Hexerei characters are getting now (large lore and events, new 5* buffer to work with them, new dps and support artifacts, weapons that have additional effects when used by them etc.), we could almost pinpoint when there is room for such big scale addition.

Upcoming version dates:

• Version 6.6 (Luna 7): May 20 - June 30 - Nicole and Lohen - Hexerei artifact for supports, Superconduct/Stellar conduct artifact
• Version 6.7 (Luna 8): July 1 - August 11 - Sandrone
• Version 7.0: August 12 - September 22 - Two new Sneznaya 5* - Likely artifacts for Sneznaya DPS and Support
• Version 7.1: September 23 - November 3 - 1-2 new Sneznaya 5*
• Version 7.2: November 4 - December 15 - Possibly Tsaritsa - New artifacts made for her
• Version 7.3: December 16 - January 27 - This is patch we might get small break from Sneznaya and get Liyue buffs and related lore events
• Version 7.4: January 28 - March 9 - Lantern Rite coming first half of this patch, long awaited Madam Ping might come and I personally wish her to be like Nicole for Hexerei. Also new artifact sets for Adepti DPS and Support.

So who are getting buffed - Early leaks say its Zhongli, Ganyu, Xiao and Hu Tao. (also should be bunch of 4*) Zhongli should receive largest buffs, such as his petrify works on any bosses and greatly amplify damage taken while petrified. Other threes are main DPS, so new Adepti 5* makes sense to be a support/buffer.

TLDR: It might be later this year or start of next year.
