Is there a reliable way to identify that audio file was converter from 44.1k to 48k and vice versa?

Hi all,

I am under impression that most studios do recording and mastering at one sampling frequency (either 176.4kHz or 192kHz) and simply convert from 176.4k to 48k for video and from 192k to 44.1k for CD. Which is no doubt affects quality as interpolation is involved.

Is there a piece of software to do a sampling frequency conversion check?
