Nitro cold brew pour!

Nitro cold brew pour!

This is my 3rd 2 gallon batch of cold brew that I make specifically for my kegerator equipped with a stout faucet and N2 gas.

I’m brewing 900g of coffee in 2 gallons of filtered water. I’m experimenting with different brew times now. This was a 24 hour steep in the kegerator (45 degrees) and I stirred the mash once.

I’m enjoying the lighter and more citrusy roasts of coffee for this. Lots of flavor and lots of caffeine.

Anyone have a recommendation for brew time?

I want to repair my driveway!

Hey everyone - thanks in advance for any advice.

I’m noticing that cracks are starting to form under the driveway and I’m wondering if water is getting in where the seal is broken (pictured) and the causing cracks to form when it freezes?

I want to replace the seals (are they called that?) in between my garage and my driveway and between the concrete separations in my driveway.

I think I need some kind of self leveling seal, and something called a backer rod? Maybe?

I don’t know the sizes - but I can definitely measure the driveway width to get the appropriate length of strip.

Am I supposed to:

A) remove the previous strip
B) install a new strip
C) put wads of strip at the edges to contain the seal
D) place appropriate self leveling seal with a caulk gun
E) let dry in the dry weather for a few days?

Would love a parts list/recommendation or a link to a how-to video. I don’t quite know what I’m looking for.

Thanks

UPDATE: I measured 1" gaps between my driveway and my garage. And 1" gaps between my driveway and the sidewalk (on either side of the sidewalk"

All of it needs to be replaced; it is dry, cracked, and missing in some areas

I just finished my N2 Kegerator for cold brew coffee

I made a lot of mistakes, but I learned a lot as well

I have a better than market alternative for nitro cold brew at a coffee shop… I think this coffee taste amazing and I can customize just about every aspect of the coffee production at home now.

Here is my parts list! Most of this stuff I found on Amazon but some at home depot and FB marketplace.

N2 Tank:
I bought this from a local welding supply store.  Look for a 20cu ft N2. (MUST have CGA-580 Nitrogen tank interface to connect to regulator). Tank refills are $16 at my location

Kegerator Supplies:

I bought my kegerator “fridge” on FB marketplace for $130 and it had nothing usable so I replaced everything. NOTE: If you buy one new - most of the supplies on this list will be included so don't double purchase anything.

This is a kegerator similar to what I have:
Kegerator

Under the Fridge Mat Get whatever size to protect your floor depending on size of kegerator

Single Tap Tower

Regulator connect to N2 tank to maintain pressure control in keg. MUST HAVE CGA-580 connector

2.5gal Corny Keg (ball lock)

Diffusion stone with lid will need additional hose clamp this one only came with one

Gas and Liquid Lines

Stout Faucet

Disconnects (These interface with the keg and your gas/liquid lines - also comes with clamps)

Cold Brew Supplies:

Mesh Bag

Big Funnel transferring coffee between vessels

Coffee Filters must filter after brewing to remove sediment - this keeps lines clog-free.

5-gallon food safe buckets to brew coffee in (got food safe lids too)
(I got these at home depot look up “leaktite 5gal Food grade bucket”

Cleaning Supplies:

Cleaning hand pump - use to flush liquid line with cleaner/sanitizer

Powdered Brewer Wash (PBW)

StarSan

Need advice on a N2 setup for Cold Brew

I just got a work from home job and want to up my coffee game at home and build a N2 setup. I have some questions about what to buy and need your guidance, peeps.

I'm mainly confused on fittings and hoses

Budget ~$500

Preferences: 1 gallon keg (it's about a week's worth of coffee for me), 20 cubic foot N2 tank from local shop (no cartridges), and obviously food safe.

Gas:

Local shop quoted me around $200 for a N2tank, gas, and regulator. However, I don't know what hoses or tubing/fittings to get the gas from the tank to the keg

Keg:

I want a gallon size (128oz) for my personal use - what should I get? My concern is that I'll get a tank that won't be compatible with the faucets and the fittings. Thoughts?

What is a dissolving stone lid? Do I need this?

I think I need a ball lock setup - is this right?

Then I get a stout tap for the liquid side?

Do I need a gas filter and a liquid filter - if so where do they go!?

Thank you kindly
