roommate (cousin, living with my family temporarily) has a migraine disorder that causes frequent vomiting.
Obviously I am sympathetic and do what I can to be helpful.
Privately I have made a comment to another immediate family member venting that while I am supportive and don’t “blame” roommate and I’m obviously not upset with her because that would be insane, this is still triggering for me.
But of course it gets spun around that I am cold and insensitive and “not being fair to her”

It’s incredibly frustrating because I really do have sympathy for her. I also understand that this type of vomiting wouldn’t be a contagious. I just don’t know how to get my own family to understand how this stuff effects me. It isn’t just like “eww yucky”
I went weeks at a time during middle and high school missing school because I was so paralyzed by this fear. I can’t watch movies because I’m so scared. They all know this, but its like it’s because I am a little better at hiding it now it’s gone away…
