hi all, just curious if anyone knows where to get accurate/period correct amp knob replacements (canada specifically)?

not a purist by any means, i just can’t seem to find a set of replacement knobs that match what came with the 70s SF Vibro Champ i acquired recently.

i bought a set on amazon, however, the metallic top is very a cheap shiny material that sticks out like a sore thumb and isn’t quite the same shaft size (it didn’t state it was imperial or metric as it’s “universal” - set screw, still didn’t fit right).

most replacements seem to have a heavily indented centre bit whereas these ones are very shallow and almost but not completely flat. obviously the aging makes them less shiny but it’s also clear that the material used has weathered in a way the run of the mill ones won’t.

thanks to anyone who can help, if i’m shit out of luck, then any modern replacements that will fit properly will do and i’ll just hold onto the originals.

just picked up a 70s Vibro Champ (at least that’s what i’ve determined from comparing it to pictures online) and am curious if i should be worried about a death cap.

it has a 3 prong plug and it was played and tested and i didn’t die which seems like a good indicator it’s safe. unfortunately i didnt realize i was buying it off a tweaker until i drove an hour out to test it, hence why i didn’t bother trying to see if the guy knew about its servicing history.

anyways, does me playing it once and not dying mean its safe or just lucky until something fails out? everything sounds and functions fine minus a scratchy pot or two. should i take it to get a once over?

side note: where or what should i be looking for to replace the missing volume knob? would any modern metric replacement work or is it something specific? my local guitar shop wasn’t very helpful as per usual when i asked them.
