Need help/guidance regarding feral cats
Long story short, I have a mother and its three kittens basically using my backyard as their home. I have been feeding them and providing water daily. Yesterday I noticed one of the kittens has a shut eye. Likely infection but I can’t get close enough to inspect as they’re afraid of me despite having seen me feed them for a few weeks now. I want to get this kitten help but I’m at a bit of a roadblock as I don’t think I can trap them myself. I’ve reached out to Furvana to get guidance (voicemail because they’re out today) and also wrote to the City of Bayonne. Had a call with the Union City Feral Cat Committee and they said no one would trap it for me and that I would have to get or borrow a trap, crate it and then administrate eye drops myself while I keep them in my house. That’s not an option for me as my indoor cat absolutely hates other cats.
Looking for any advice anyone may have. I really don’t want this kitten to lose its eye but also don’t know what more to do.
