I made a standalone Windows app that looks at your images and writes captions and Wan 2.2 / LTX video prompts with Qwen-VL, no ComfyUI needed

I caption a lot of images, and I often need image-to-video prompts written from a still. I was doing it with the QwenVL nodes in ComfyUI, which work well, but opening ComfyUI and loading a workflow just to caption a folder of photos felt like too much.

So I made ImageGenPrompt. It's a normal desktop app. Drop in an image, pick a caption type, hit Caption, and copy the result. No ComfyUI and no node graph.

One thing to be clear about first: it does not read the prompt saved inside an AI image (the metadata that ComfyUI or A1111 embeds in the PNG). It looks at the picture and writes a new description from what it sees. So you won't get the original prompt back, but it works on any image, including photos and images with the metadata stripped.

What it does:

- Single image or a whole folder. Batch mode writes an imagename.txt next to each image.

- Trigger word. Set one and it's added to the front of every caption in a batch.

- 13 caption types, from simple tags up to very detailed descriptions, a cinematic style, and a structured analysis (subject, lighting, camera and so on).

- Video prompt writers for Wan 2.2 and LTX. They look at your image and write an image-to-video prompt for it, in 5 second and 20 second versions.

- Custom prompt, if you'd rather write your own instruction.

- 32 models in the list. The official Qwen3-VL and Qwen2.5-VL ones, plus community uncensored versions, in both normal and GGUF form.

- Runs on an NVIDIA GPU or on CPU. If you have no GPU or low VRAM, the GGUF models run through llama.cpp. Auto mode picks for you.

- Hugging Face login inside the app for the few gated models, so no terminal needed.

- English and Traditional Chinese, and you can switch live.

Nothing downloads until you actually caption with a model. It shows you the size first and asks. The default is Qwen3-VL-4B-Instruct, about 7 GB, which fits fine on a 16 GB card. Models go into a models folder next to the app.

You can also add your own models without touching the built-in list. Drop a custom_models.json next to the app and it gets merged in.

Things to know, so nobody is surprised:

- Right now you run it from source. You need Python 3.10 or newer, and for GPU you need the CUDA build of PyTorch. The README has the exact commands.

- There's a build.bat that makes a single exe with everything inside, so the person using it needs no Python at all. That exe is about 3 GB, and the first launch is slow because it has to unpack.

- If you're on CPU, use the GGUF models. The normal ones are very slow without a GPU.

- A few community models are gated. You have to request access on Hugging Face first, then log in from the app.

Big thanks to huchukato for ComfyUI-QwenVL-Mod, which the model list and caption presets come from, and to the Qwen team for the models.

It's free and open source (Apache 2.0). The models have their own licenses.

I made a standalone Windows app for SeedVR2 photo upscaling, no ComfyUI needed (free, open source)

I'm a photographer, and I got tired of opening ComfyUI every time I just wanted to enlarge or sharpen a photo. So I made a small desktop app for it, called Citrine Photo.

You drag in a photo (or a whole folder), pick how big you want it, and hit go. Everything runs on your own PC, no cloud.

It has two engines:

Fast is Real-ESRGAN (ncnn-vulkan). It works on pretty much any GPU, with optional GFPGAN face restore.

Pro is SeedVR2, for NVIDIA 20xx to 50xx cards. The app checks your VRAM and picks the 7B model if you have 12 GB or more, or the 3B model for 6 to 10 GB. There's a low VRAM mode too.

Other things it does:

  • Target size presets (2 / 8 / 16 / 24 MP or custom), and it shows the output dimensions before you run
  • Before/after preview with a draggable wipe line
  • Batch queue, plus a Regenerate button to re-run the whole list with new settings
  • Never overwrites your files, and each output is tagged with the engine name
  • Keeps your EXIF
  • Reads JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, BMP and HEIC
  • English and Traditional Chinese (you can switch in Settings)

SeedVR2 isn't bundled. You install it from Settings, and the app sets up its own Python, torch and models. It's about 8 to 9 GB, the downloads can resume, and it checks your disk space first.

For anyone curious, the Pro pipeline is a port of the Upscale_by_SeedVR2_v4 ComfyUI workflow: 3x3 tiles with 15% overlap, SeedVR2 on each tile, wavelet colour match, then a feathered merge. It calls numz's standalone CLI in a separate process.

Right now you run it from source (pip install the requirements, then run.bat). There's also a script to build a portable version. I've only tested it properly on an RTX A4000, so I'd really like to hear how it runs on other cards, especially 6 to 8 GB ones.

Big thanks to numz for the SeedVR2 ComfyUI code, AInVFX for the GGUF models, ByteDance for SeedVR2, and xinntao for Real-ESRGAN.

Bugs and ideas are welcome. It's free and open source (Apache 2.0).

I made a simple desktop app for MiniMax H3 video so you don't have to fight the ComfyUI workflow

Hey all,

A while back I posted EasyAI here, a simple desktop front end for ComfyUI. Thanks again to everyone who tried it and sent feedback, it helped a lot.

This is the next one in the same family. It's called EasyMiniDirector and it's built just for MiniMax H3.

If you haven't tried H3 yet, it makes short video clips with sound already baked in, and it listens best when you give it separate shots instead of one long prompt. The catch is the ComfyUI workflow. You have to pick between two 21 GB checkpoints, deal with a weird 17k+5 frame count, and set four different speed settings that only make sense together. I kept messing it up myself, so I hid all of that.

In the app you type what you want, split it into shots if you like, and hit Create. That's it.

Some things it can do:

You can drag dividers to change how long each shot is. You can add a reference photo to keep a face or outfit the same through the clip, and add a voice clip so the speech sounds like a certain person. There's a Turbo/Quality switch. Turbo is roughly twice as fast, so I use it while testing ideas and switch to Quality for the final one.

There's also an optional helper that uses Ollama to write the photo descriptions for you and turn a rough idea like "a fox in the snow" into a proper prompt. You can skip it if you don't want the extra download.

Every video also saves its last frame, so you can continue the scene in the next clip, plus a settings file. Ctrl+O loads everything back.

It's in English and Traditional Chinese, Windows only for now.

You need EasyAI installed first. EasyMiniDirector installs into the same folder. The installer grabs the ComfyUI add-ons for you, but not the H3 model files. They're about 42 GB, so I'd rather you choose to download them. The app will tell you which files are missing and where to find them. ComfyUI 0.32 or newer is needed.

One thing I found that might help anyone working with the Director node directly: the local_prompts and segment_lengths inputs don't actually do anything. The node reads everything from the timeline_data string. I wasted a good while on that, so hopefully this saves you the trouble.

Big thanks to seesee75-commits for ComfyUI-MiniMaxH3-Director, xmarre for the Spectrum speed-up node, and Comfy-Org for the models.

Would love to hear how it runs on your card, and whether splitting into shots feels easier than the raw workflow. Bugs and ideas are welcome too.

It's free and open source (Apache 2.0).

Gokuk — a free, open-source Windows app for making full AI songs locally with YuE2 (no ComfyUI, no subscription)

I kept running into the same problem: YuE2 is one of the best open models for full songs with vocals, but a lot of people who want to try it get stuck on Python environments, command-line flags, and out-of-memory errors before they ever hear a single note.

So I ended up building my own solution: Gokuk (歌曲, Cantonese for "song").

It's a portable desktop app that wraps YuE2 and reduces the process to something closer to:

Pick a sound → write lyrics → Create song

There's no ComfyUI and no command line to deal with.

What it currently does

  • Create tab: pick language, genre, mood, voice, instruments, and tempo from simple chips, write lyrics with [Verse] / [Chorus] tags, and hit Create
  • Cover tab: drop in a recording, SheetSage2 transcribes its melody and chords, then you give it new lyrics and a new style
  • Piano-roll score editor: YuE2 plans a score (melody, chords, key, tempo) before it sings, and you can see and edit that score before anything is generated
  • Library: every song is kept, with MP3/WAV/FLAC export and one-click "make it again" with the same settings
  • English + Traditional Chinese
  • Windows 10/11 only for now, NVIDIA GPU with 12 GB+ VRAM, about 25 GB of disk space
  • Fully portable: unzip, run Gokuk Setup once to download the models, and everything runs locally on your GPU

One important note: the YuE2, SheetSage2, and MERT model weights are licensed CC BY-NC 4.0, so anything you generate is for non-commercial use.

I just published a video showing the whole thing from setup through generating a song:

GitHub:
https://github.com/Garionhk/GoKuk

It's still early and I'm posting it here because I'd really like some outside feedback. In particular, I'm interested in hearing from people who have played with local music models:

  • What parts of Gokuk would actually be useful to you?
  • Would LoRA support be worth adding? (I'm considering it next)
  • What would you want from a local alternative to Suno?
  • Is there anything about the approach that you think I'm getting wrong?

It's open source, so the source is there if anyone wants to have a look.
