Left my AB biller 36 inch at camp Cronin fishing area
Just a long shot but I accidentally left my gun leaned up against my car at camp Cronin fishing area a few weeks ago and I’m wondering if anyone found it or has seen it. It’s an ab biller 36 inch gun with sharpie marks on the side at 16 and 28 inches from the rear of the gun. I would know it if I see it from the years of wear. Losing that gun means I can’t take both sons fishing at once so it’s important to me. If someone found It I can afford like $50 to buy it back.
Good day for tog in Narragansett
5 fish between the two of us, each 17 to 19 inches
Saw two of you out at bass rock Narragansett today
My first time there and it was awesome! Perfect easy dives. Great visibility. Lots of fish. Got one trigger fish, and two tog. Saw huge blues come by but they were too fast for us. Also saw a small Sergeant Major Damselfish. There was a kayaker that hooked a 6 ft brown shark and we saw him go for a ride. Pulled his kayak around
The difference between male and female tautog
Talking to a friend and he said “ it only takes one male to repopulate an area but it takes a lot of females” so now I’ve decided to only take males. Honestly it never occurred to me. But not it seems so obvious and I feel stupid for not considering previously. This is a post to maybe help others have the same revelation. Top is a male, whiter chin and blacker body. Bottom is a female, darker chin and brown body. Help protect the population by leaving the big females to do their thing!
Another shark encounter in Narragansett
Sand bar shark took my fish right off my stringer and left me with the head. I’ve been diving for 17 years and never even see a shark now it’s happened twice in as many weeks.
Camp cronin fishing area
I’ve been practicing with my 14 yr old at camp Cronin, in the harbor. Letting him practice breath holding and getting things from the bottom in calm, good visibility water. Previously I didn’t realize tautog also hid in grass. Saw multiple keepers there tonight. My son got one. Anyone have any experience there?
Shark sighting Narragansett aug 25th
On Tuesday August 25th I was dragging a tog attached to my flag for about 40 minutes and had a 5 ft sand bar shark come up and take a look. I was in the water off of the coast guard house by Narragansett beach and it came directly under me and my son as we were floating on the surface in 10 feet of water. It was moving slowly close to bottom and as soon as we noticed it and hearts started racing it was like it knew and took off faster then you can imagine. We immediately swam in and the fish was safe.
stripers off hazard rock Narragansett
I’ve been seeing stripers off of hazard rock in Narragansett. Went when the waves are calm and they are just hanging out in the cracks of the rocks. Took off before I could get a shot
Visibility at Narragansett pier yesterday was the best I’ve seen in August 15ft +
Too bad the rain today is going to ruin in it for days
