Dealership's Broker Montway Hasn't Shipped Vehicle in 14 days - Advice
I bought a new Bronco and am doing cross country transport from Eastern TN to SoCal. I let the dealer handle logistics for $1860 open truck, and they hired Montway broker.
After 7 days, no movement. The broker said high gas prices + pickup location are making it hard to find drivers. So I offered $400 COD incentive to a driver to expedite.
After 14 days, no movement.
Questions:
- Should I retract the $400 incentive?? ...it seems like b.s. that the broker apparently isn't reducing their margin in order to meet market price, while I'm here throwing more of my money to no avail. My dealer and Montway agreed on the price to move the vehicle. It's on Montway to make it happen.
- If I DO retract the COD driver incentive, then I'm assuming I'll effectively kill any hope of Montway finding a driver, correct?
- In the current market, is it risky canceling Montway and hiring my own direct? I'm thinking about both pickup speed and price.
....this might flip into a quote request.
Thanks!
