If Central Hudson doesn’t want to be part of a public takeover, maybe they should be prepared for outages like last night.
It’s not hard to see why people want central Hudson to be a publicly owned utility.
We have all paid our bills, they’re higher, much higher. If that went hand in hand with good service, I’d be happy for them to be a private, for profit company.
But you can tell by the outage map that they had no one ready or on call for the 300k outages we saw last night.
Too cheap to pay OT or 2OT or 3OT? Too bad. I have 3 neighbors in their 60s or 70s baking and we all pay a ton of money every month. Get it together.
Edit: y’all, I implore you to think about how heat domes end before you comment. It’s not a surprise that we had violent storms as the heat wave draws to a close. That is why CH should have been prepared.
Edit 2: some of y’all really should take an intro weather and climate class. I cannot continue to answer low information replies that that people can lookup in a quick google search. Mostly because I’m going home to no power or internet. So, thanks for coming! Hopefully, CH sends a crew to the orange/ulster side of the river.
