Dozens of Ghosts

I had been working for the summer in Door County Wisconsin. 2,003 ish, I was in my early 40's. After work I would walk on a rocky wooded hillside trail I found along Lake Michigan. It goes along for about a 1/2 mile or so and then I would turn around and head back. I did this almost everyday. It was a beautiful area. You could see 50 yards or more through the woods and up the hillside. To the right a few steps was about a 20 foot drop to the lake shore. One day after I had turned around and was heading back I had this feeling like I was being watched. I turned slightly and looked up the hillside. There were dozens of men. All slightly spread out in different places standing solitary. They were all dressed as Frontiersman. White men and Native American men. Different ages. Some had walking sticks, some had guns. All stoic and just looking at me.

After a few short seconds I ran. I didn't feel haunted, just startled. This happened after 7 weeks of walking the trail. I had one more week of work before heading home and I decided to go back there and see if it happened again. I went everyday for 6 more days but didn't see anything again.

I have been holding onto this for 23 years. It feels good to share it. Thank you
