Im expecting a fairly tight NDP win by a few seats here and there
The Greens to not get more than 1-2 seat
Don’t expect OneBc or CentreBc to win anything
Hot Take : Lowan wont win her riding and neither will Brodie
Municipal elections are coming up next month in BC, and noting how right wing candidates are on the rise, it’s imperative we amplify progressive ones as much as possible. These are the ones below i’ve come across so far, some well known, some new :
Vancouver:
Lots of progressive candidates and parties. COPE and Sean Orr are easily the best ones of the lot. They have some new candidate too ( https://www.votecope.ca/ )
Surrey : Salman Zafar. He’s an independent. There’s a shocking lack of even a single left wing candidate in Surrey, and he seems to be the only one ( https://pvonline.ca/2026/08/27/surrey-council-candidate-salman-zafar-campaigning-to-bring-working-class-voice-to-city-politics/ )
Victoria : Susan Kim and the entire Victoria For All Slate . They have a solid platform and anyone who will go after the rich is worth supporting ( https://www.victoriaforall.ca/ )
